Travel Insurance Installation Instructions

These instructions are for installing the First Resort Software Travel Insurance Module. Generally the instructions and documentation included with the Travel Insurance files should be sufficient to get the Module up and running. However, up to one hour of pre-scheduled support assistance is included with this Module if needed. You can reach the Support Department at 407-935-9200 If you have not purchased the Travel Insurance Module (the cost is nominal), please contact the First Resort Sales Department at 800-872-3771.

Installation

  1. Obtain the Travel Insurance setup file. You may download it from the First Resort web site (file size is less than 1/2 Megabyte), or you may request to have it sent to you on a floppy disk. If you are utilizing the CSA Travel Protection program the file name will be CSA.EXE. If you are utilizing the Travel Guard program the file name will be TRAVELGUARD.EXE. The file contains two custom reports and detailed user documentation in Microsoft Word format.

Note: The Travel Insurance setup file works with the First Resort Report Generator program. If you are not a previous user of the First Resort Report Generator program, it may also be necessary to obtain and install the Report Generator program.

  2. The Travel Insurance setup file is password-protected. If you are downloading the file from the First Resort web site, you will need to contact First Resort Support to obtain a password. This is most efficiently accomplished by emailing a request to support@firstres.com. If you received the file on diskette, the password will be printed on the diskette label.
  3. If you are downloading the file, the file is located in the list of downloadable files at the Current First Resort Versions and Downloads link from the First Resort Support home page. To get to the First Resort Support home page go to www.firstres.com and click on 'Support Services.' When downloading, pay attention to the folder to which the file is being downloaded.
  4. Open the Windows Explorer program (Start > Programs > Windows Explorer) and navigate to the location of the Travel Insurance setup file. If you downloaded the file it will be in the folder to which you downloaded it. If you obtained the file on diskette be sure the diskette is inserted into your PC and look in the item described as '3 1/2 Floppy (A:).'
  5. Double click (right mouse button) the Travel Insurance setup file. An introductory message will appear. Read the contents, then click on 'OK.'
  6. A dialog box displaying the location to install the Travel Insurance module will appear. The location defaults to F:\ACCOUNTS which is applicable in most cases. If necessary, use the dialog box navigation features to browse to the correct location. Once the correct location is specified, click on 'Unzip.' It is okay to leave the 'Overwrite Files Without Prompting' box checked.
  7. When the Password dialog box appears, type in the supplied password. Note the password is CASE SENSITIVE. Click on 'OK.'
  8. The installation will proceed. It will only take a moment or two. Once completed, a message '3 file(s) were unzipped successfully' will appear as confirmation of a successful installation. Click on 'OK' once more, then click 'Close' to shut down the installation program.

Getting Started

  1. Open Microsoft Word. Click on File > Open and navigate to your First Resort data directory (typically F:\ACCOUNTS). Open the user documentation file. If you are using the CSA Travel Protection program the file name will be CSA.DOC. If you are using the Travel Guard program, the file name will be TRAVELGUARD.DOC.
  2. Read the documentation thoroughly. It will guide you through the necessary setup and usage steps. At the end it includes two one-page instructional documents for submitting data files to CSA or Travel Guard. Keep them handy for regular reference.
  3. In most cases, the documentation will be sufficient to get you up and running with the Travel Insurance Module. Setup complexities which may require additional assistance include the use of multiple rate groups or the desire to split the due dates of multiple guest add-on charges into separate deposits. Should you need assistance, contact First Resort Support at (407)935-9200. The Travel Insurance Module includes up to one hour of support assistance.
