Different Levels of Overbooking
There are three possible levels to
allow or deny overbooking within First Resort. The first
is on a system wide level, which must first be activated
before any other levels will be allowed. The second is
on a user by user level, and the third is by specific
property code.
(From the APPLICATION SELECTION Menu)
- Enter H-A followed by your business code,
and then E to edit and press F10
or page down until you reach screen #10. The response
to Allow overbooks to occur on the last line,
should be Y to allow overbooking. You must
F10 or page down through screen #11 and press
return to continue when prompted, and Y to
save.
- Enter H-U-E followed by your 2 character
user code and the business code you want to make the
change to. After pressing E to edit,
enter down to the last option on the second to last
line which reads Res: Comm O/Ride;OvBkOK. The
first field controls the ability to overbook by user
by entering either a Y or an N. Press
F10 and Y to save when finished.
NOTE: the default setting for a new user code
is NOT to allow overbooking.
- Enter P-A-P followed by the property code
you wish to change. There is an option in the middle
column to the right of the Stats Complex field.
The option reads simply OB: : and can be
answered with a Y to allow, or N to
disallow overbooking in this one property. Press
F10 two times and Y to save.
Having troubles overbooking a
reservation? First, ask yourself, "Is the person who
is having trouble new to the staff?" If they are,
then your first suspicion might be that the default
setting on their user code was not changed to allow
overbooks. Another option you may want to check to see
if this is a new property that may have had it's setup
entered incorrectly.
