How to Read a PMX Log File

How to Read a PMX???.LOG File

To check the transaction file PMX for transactions that may have been altered.

In the event of a transactional discrepancy the First Resort PMX???.LOG file can be utilized. This file must be set to be used and active by setting the Business Setup on page 11 to Y for the question that reads;

Log PM Folio Transactions to PMXbbb.LOG :Y:

Once this is set all folio transactions are shown in the log as are changes to any transactions. The following is an example of what transactions and changes will look like in the file;

11/25/95 10:47:32 User Pat Cooney  
1000 LTPAY 11/25/95 Long Term Rent Payment -10400.00 New
11/25/95 10:49:29 User Pat Cooney  
1000 LTPAY 11/25/95 Long Term Rent Payment -10400.00 Original
11/25/95 10:49:30 User Pat Cooney  
1000 LTPAY 11/25/95 Long Term Rent Payment 20800.00 Modified

The system date and time appear prior to the user name on the first line. The Transaction #, cost code, Transaction Description, Amount, and New appears on the second line. New Indicates a New transaction.

On the third and fourth line of the sample, the transaction 1000 is being accessed and the original value of the transaction is noted with Original showing up next to the transaction.

The fifth and sixth line of the sample show the time one second after the Original transaction was accessed it was Modified to 20800.00 from the Original -10400.00.

This is a simple and quich way to check on transactional descrepancies.
