Mailing Lists Using Letter Logic

The mailing list features in the First Resort system are capable of a broad range of functions that enable the client to create mailing lists. There does exist however, letter logic which can compile names in a more specific nature. The following information will help to make you aware of some of these variables.

The following logic variables are useful in compiling mailing list information for more specific purposes. These variables can greatly enhance the functionality of our mailing list capabilities.

{QSRC_XXX} This is most helpful in grouping reservations according to their source code or marketing schematic. If you wanted to target all reservations that were referred to your company through the Denver Post, this is the logic that could be used.
{QRSMPMP}and{QPRP} These may be used to put together a list of any reservations which may fall into particular properties. Can be useful in targeting a certain type of tenant, whether they may be in a more expensive unit or a specialized unit.
{QEBY_XX} If a reservationist wants to do a mailing to everyone that she has booked, this variable can accomplish this task. Could be a beneficial feature if they are a more personalized property management company.
{QARRR}and{QDEPR} This will pull up reservations by the between dates specified with this logic. Very helpful in targeting seasons.
{QWINTER} This will pull all reservations occurring between 11/01 and 05/01.
{QGM}, {QGF}, {QSM}, {QSF} These logic variables can be employed to target groups which have stayed with you.
{TLABEL} The use of this variable at the beginning of your letter will create a label that can be utilized for every reservation which has been queried. It will put this list into a file which is accessed through R-T-M. For example, the start of the letter will look like this:

{QEBY_JA}
{FNAME}{LNAME}
{ADDR1}
{QF}{NFF}{END}
This logic is asking for all reservations entered by JA, and it is making a mailing lable for this person.

Each of these variables can greatly enhance the specialization of our mailing list. What must be done to accomplish this is the full copying of the reservation's list R-T-M to the supplemental mailing list M-P. This is done with the R-O-R function. You will then use the list which you compiled using the above variables to flag the list codes accordingly. At this point you will have your mailing list which is specific to your individual needs.
