Property Conversion Procedure
Procedures
for a Property Conversion (Prop Con) READ ALL OF
THIS CAREFULLY!
This procedure is to be done
when a client would like to change the 5-digit property
code to a different 5-digit property code. When this
procedure is done all associated information included in
the PMP,PMR, PMX, RSM, SYL, WOM, WOD, RSB, RSD, and PMH
will carry over to the renamed property. You may convert
many property codes at the same time with this
procedure.
To be aware of before the
procedure:
- You must be a diagnostic
user.
- The new property codes you
are assigning may never have been used before in that
business code, even if they have been deleted (unless
they were deleted out of the diagnostic menu). Check
the new property code from the P-A-P screen. If the
new code has been used before and has been deleted,
you may not use this code again.
- An availability rebuild
will be necessary after the procedure.
- ALL USERS MUST BE OUT
OF First Resort FOR THE DURATION OF THE PROPCON AND
THE AVAILABILITY REBUILD! This includes interfaces
as well.
How to run a Prop Con:
Make sure you do not have a file in the First
Resort folder that is named propcon.txt. If you do
rename it.
- Go to the First Resort
Text Editor (H-T)
- Enter the file name
PROPCON.TXT and then hit Enter, then hit Enter again.
- In all Capital letters
(important) type the old property code to be renamed,
Hit the TAB key and then type the new property code.
If you are renaming more than one property code,
create a row for each property code to be re-named.
LIMIT THE NUMBER OF PROPERTIES TO 10-15.
- After entering each
property code and the name it is to be renamed to,
Press F10, Save and Exit.
- From this point on, all
users must be out of First Resort for the duration of
the propcon and availability rebuild. This includes
interfaces, as well.
Versions 9.96 or older .
.
- Escape to the menu and
then type shift 6 (^) for the File Diagnostic Routines
Menu.
- In the first field enter
an F to Fix Prop Codes, in the second field enter a B
for Beginning, and in the third field (Enter Byte
Offset) leave as a 0. Press F10, Press P to Proceed.
Version 10.02 or higher .
. .
- From the main menu H-B-U
F, Press P to Proceed, then press Enter.
Once this procedure is
complete all the old property codes will not exist, and
the information in the system associated with it will be
connected to the new property code. REMINDER:
Availability has been destroyed and will need to be
rebuilt.
WHAT TO DO IF A PROP CON
ROUTINE DOES NOT FINISH: If the procedure is for
some reason interrupted, it is necessary to find out in
which file the process stopped. To determine this, get
to the File Diagnostic Routines Menu (Shift 6). Search
each file in order (PMP, PMR, PMX, RSM, SYL, WOM, WOD,
RSB, RSD) for the last new property code listed in your
text file. Once it is known where the process broke down
(the first file the new property code is not present),
follow the above instructions to begin a PROP CON,
however instead of pressing P to proceed, press the
corresponding number to the file in which to restart the
procedure. |
