Exporting First Resort Reports
Exporting Reports to ASCII files
This procedure allows reports and other
printable information to be exported to a file format
that can be imported into other applications, i.e.
Microsoft Word, Excel, etc....
One of the output options when running reports is to
VIEW. Which means when the report is complete, it
appears on your screen. Along the bottom of the screen
are several options for moving around the report and
printing. One option is FILE. When selected, you
will be prompted to enter a file name such as
"report.out" or "report.txt". After
entering a filename and pressing either Enter or
F10. This will create a file in the accounts
directory that can now be accessed or imported by other
applications that are able to read ASCII files.
If it is not desirable to output the file in the
accounts directory, you may specify which directory when
prompted for the file name.
On most report option screens, the computer will
accept an F where you would enter a P for
print or V to view. In these cases, the computer
will prompt you for a file name right away. Follow the
procedure listed above to export the file. |
