Client Checklist For the First Resort
Internet Online Booking Interface
The following is a list of all tasks. It is
your responsibility to complete or coordinate.
Failure to do so will result in a delay. Most
clients should plan for a 6-8 week window from purchase
to installation.
- ___ If you have not already filled out IOI
Information Sheet, please do so and fax back to First
Resort. We must receive it prior to scheduling your
installation.
- ___Provide your Hardware Vendor the Hardware
Vendor Install List. Your hardware requirements must
be completed before you can schedule the
installation.
- ___ Select and enlist the services of an Internet
Service Provider (ISP). You will need 24 hour
full-time Internet access.
- ___ Order and schedule installation of a dedicated
Internet access line from your local phone company.
This line may be DSL, 56K, ISDN, T1, etc. (Need an external static IP address for
server) NOTE: Installation may take up to
4 weeks!
- ___ Have your ISP obtain and register Domain name
and IP address.
- ___ Order and schedule installation of appropriate
hardware with hardware vendor.
- ___ Provide First Resort with a link to your logo
file (*.gif or *.jpg)
- ___ Clear out old or unused rates. This is
probably the most time consuming part of the search.
- ___ Fax or send the S-A-U report and P-A-T
(availability option) report to First Resort (they
will need to match, but we can guide you through the
process) * feel free to contact us to help you
set up P-A-T!
- ___ Provide a written description of any custom
work desired (note: all customization beyond standard
options is billed at $150/hour)
- ___ E-mail or ftp a text file of your “Terms and
Conditions” to First Resort.
- ___Create a user code within First Resort of "OI"
that has access to the R and I menu options for the
First Resort Installation Technician.
- ___Call First Resort to schedule installation
date. Note: 2 weeks notice is required
- ___ If you are adding the NT Server to your Novell
Network, you MUST change your "Network Type" on your
H-H-E Screen (in First Resort) from "N" to "J" (First
Resort versions 9.83 and lower) or from "N" to "W" in
conjunction with a System Locking Type of "M" (First
Resort versions 9.89 and higher) to accommodate your
mixed environment. Failure to take
this step will result in index errors and frequent
file rebuilds!
- If you are not comfortable with the following
tasks you may wish to have a knowledgeable hardware
vendor train you or be present at the installation.
You will need to have someone on-site during the
installation who can do the following:
- Know how to log onto the Novell or NT server
as administrator (or supervisor).
- Add a network user, First ResortINET, who has
all rights to the ACCOUNTS directory.
- Know how to get to a command prompt, know the
location of where First Resort resides.
- Know basic DOS commands such as how to copy a
file or create a directory.
- Add a new user on the NT server, First
ResortINET.
- If you are in a Novell environment, install
Gateway Services for Novell on the NT
server.
- Know how to make directories on the NT
server.
- Know how to download and install security and
java updates.
- Know how to attach a Novell drive as a mapped
drive on the NT server.
- Know how to log onto the NT server as the user
you’ve defined to be the First ResortINET
user.
- Know how to turn on and use PCAnywhere (TCP/IP
connection.)
- Know how to create an FTP user and password
for First Resort to access the "First Resort" and
"www" directories on the NT Server.
- ___ Have your web designer place a “book” button
in the appropriate place/places on your web page.
