After upgrading their computers, some clients suddenly find that AVMain runs exceptionally slowly on their new equipment.  This problem has been known to occur on both user workstations and Citrix servers.

There is a known issue where the DOS screen refresh does not occur correctly on workstations with 2 GHz or higher.  (The file NTVDM.exe needs to be updated). 

Microsoft has new versions of the affected file available. 

For workstations running Windows NT 4 or Windows 2000 please contact Microsoft support for the fix. 

For workstations running Windows XP, the fix has already been implemented into Service Pack 1.
